About the event
Read Across Kenosha 2026, hosted by United Way of Kenosha County, is a community-wide literacy initiative dedicated to fostering a love of reading in young learners across Kenosha. As part of this annual celebration, volunteers visit local classrooms to read with students, encouraging imagination, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for books.
This year, volunteers Rasheeda and RyannSimone proudly participated by visiting Ms. Swihart’s Pre-K class at Brass Elementary School. During their visit, they read the beloved children’s books Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, engaging students with fun, interactive storytelling and creating a joyful learning experience.
Through efforts like these, Read Across Kenosha continues to make a meaningful impact—bringing together community members and students to share the power of literacy. Each classroom visit helps build stronger connections and ensures that every child has access to stories that inspire and empower.
We are grateful…
